A massive ice hall maintained at -20°C year-round.
Surrounded by 1,000 tons of ice walls that took 25 years to form, experience the “shock” of Japan’s lowest recorded temperature.
Amid the silence filled with a pale blue light, the true cold of the northern lands awaits you.
With the flip of a switch, we recreate the world of Japan’s lowest recorded temperature of -41°C, set in Asahikawa. Along with the extreme, skin-piercing cold, you can see diamond dust sparkling and dancing in the air up close.
A massive cluster of icicles that has been nurtured without fail every single day since 1991. The layers of ice, piled one upon another, embody the very thickness of time accumulated here. Immerse yourself in this work of art woven by nature and the passage of time.

ICE ACTIVITIES
The world of ice isn’t just for looking at.
Touch the cold ice directly, slide down it, and be amazed. We’ve prepared activities that let both adults and children rediscover their inner child.
Use all five senses to fully experience the Kingdom of Ice.
A specially designed slide made of real ice. The smoothness unique to natural ice and the unexpected speed will elicit cheers from both children and adults alike.
An experiment unique to the northern regions: when you wave a wet towel around, it freezes solid in an instant. Experience the “science of ice” in a way that’s far more surprising than anything you’d see in a textbook.

Enjoy the diverse and exotic world created by the theme of “ice.”
This shrine was created with a deep respect for nature, a desire to learn from it, and a heartfelt gratitude toward it.
It enshrines a glass object representing ice as its divine object.
A world-first (?) endeavor. This space goes beyond the confines of a mere restroom, featuring unique interior design and artistic exhibits. Don’t miss out on this playful experience, unique to the Pavilion, right until the very end.
